"Proceeding as Scheduled Following Martial Law Lift"
President Yoon Suk-yeol declared martial law the day before but lifted it after six hours, and singer Lee Seung-hwan announced that he would resume the scheduled concert.
On the 4th, Lee Seung-hwan posted on his official social media service (SNS), "With the lifting of martial law, 'Like a Black-and-White Movie' will proceed as planned," adding, "We apologize for the confusion."
He continued, "On this day full of things to say, I will meet you with deeper and richer stories and songs."
Previously, Lee Seung-hwan was scheduled to hold the 'Like a Black-and-White Movie' performance for two days from the 4th to the 5th at the Gureum-a-rae Small Theater in Mapo-gu, Seoul. However, the day before, he suddenly announced, "Due to the cancellation of the performance, all reserved tickets will be 100% refunded."
The specific reason for the cancellation was not mentioned at the time, but some speculated that it was due to the aftermath of the martial law declared by President Yoon.
Later, after the National Assembly plenary session passed a resolution demanding the lifting of martial law in the early morning, Lee Seung-hwan posted an additional message on SNS, saying, "Fortunately, the National Assembly approved the lifting of martial law," but added, "I could not relax until the martial law was officially lifted. If the lifting is confirmed quickly in the morning, I will inform you of a positive conclusion regarding whether the performance will proceed."
