Urging the Lift of Martial Law According to Article 77, Paragraph 5 of the Constitution
Han Dong-hoon, leader of the People Power Party, urged President Yoon Seok-yeol on the 4th to declare the lifting of the emergency martial law.
On the same day, Han stated through his social media (SNS), "I ask the President to respect the will of the people and the National Assembly and immediately declare the lifting of the martial law in accordance with the Constitution."

Article 77, Paragraph 5 of the Constitution states, "When the National Assembly requests the lifting of martial law with the approval of the majority of the total members, the President shall lift it." Earlier, the National Assembly held a plenary session and passed a resolution demanding the lifting of the emergency martial law unanimously with 190 members present.
Han added, "Nothing is more important than the lives and safety of the people."
