Since President Yoon Suk-yeol declared martial law, the KOSPI 200 night futures options index has been in a sharp decline.


Emergency Martial Law 'Shock' KOSPI 200 Night Futures Fall Over 4%

As of 12:08 a.m. on the 4th, the KOSPI 200 night futures options index recorded 315.45, down 4.70% from the previous trading day.


Earlier, around 10:30 p.m. the previous day, the index turned downward and sharply widened its losses around the time President Yoon Suk-yeol declared martial law. The index had shown an upward trend compared to the previous day until just before the martial law declaration.


The KOSPI 200 night futures options are traded during nighttime hours from 6 p.m. to 5 a.m. through a linked trading system partnership between the Korea Exchange and the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) in the United States.


Meanwhile, regarding the martial law declaration, the Korea Exchange stated, "Whether the market will open today is undecided."
