Gwangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Bang Se-hwan) announced on the 3rd that it held a meeting on the 27th of last month with local companies involved in apartment construction to realize the city administration goal of the 8th term, "A Dynamic Economic City of New Leap," and to revitalize the local economy.

The meeting held at Sunam Hall in City Hall was attended by 54 people in total, including five construction companies (Dongwon Development, Joongheung Construction, Gyeongnam Enterprise, Hyundai Engineering, Jeil Construction) from five apartment complexes currently under construction, and 34 local companies in Gwangju (27 in the materials sector including Chaeum Social Cooperative, and 7 in the construction sector including Mihwa Industry).
The meeting was conducted as a time to report past achievements and freely exchange opinions on continuous job creation and ways to revitalize the local economy.
In particular, representatives from 17 companies had the opportunity to directly present and promote their businesses to the outsourcing and purchasing managers of each construction company's headquarters.
Gwangju City plans to actively request related companies to expand business participation opportunities in the apartment construction sector and to grant additional points for on-site bidding participation, to support local companies facing ongoing difficulties amid the regional economic downturn, high inflation, and employment instability.
Mayor Bang Se-hwan said, "I appreciate the continuous use of local companies by apartment construction companies in the area, and I ask for expanded participation and active cooperation from local companies so that we can overcome the economic recession together."
