Korea Electrical Contractors Association Joins Donation Relay No. 8 for Abused Children in Changwon Special City

Changwon Mayor Hong Nampyo: "We will continue to strive so that children can grow up safely and happily"

Changwon Special City, Gyeongnam Province, held the 8th donation relay ceremony for the campaign ‘Even if Scratched by Petals, Scars Remain’ to support abused children on the 3rd at the city hall reception room.

The 8th donor in this donation relay, the Gyeongnam Chapter of the Korea Electrical Contractors Association, donated 5 million won. The donation will be used to operate programs such as home care services for children from neglectful families and learning mentoring support.


Since last year, the donation relay ‘Even if Scratched by Petals, Scars Remain’ has continued by donors contributing more than 1 million won and either nominating the next participant or donating voluntarily. Up to the 7th round, a total of 44.5 million won has been raised.


The donations have focused on strengthening family bonds and preventing re-abuse through environmental changes, conducted through various customized programs. Psychological counseling and treatment, experiential activities with families, one-night two-day family trips, family photo shoots, winter vacation experiential activities, support for new students’ school bags, and study room environment improvements were provided to 155 abused children and their families.


Kim Yong-jin, Chairman of the Gyeongnam Chapter of the Korea Electrical Contractors Association, stated, “All children have the right to grow up safely and happily, and our local community must take responsible roles for the safety and happiness of children. We will continue to fulfill our role as adults for the children.”


Hong Nam-pyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City, said, “I express my gratitude as the local community unites and continuous donations are being made. We will steadily strive to ensure that children with infinite potential can grow up safely and happily.”
