Cheongyang County in Chungnam announced on the 3rd that the number of participants in the Hometown Love Donation program surpassed 2,000 as of November last year.
According to the county, 50.6% of donors were from Chungnam, followed by Daejeon at 10.8%, Gyeonggi-do at 9.8%, Sejong at 9.5%, and Seoul at 7.5%. By age group, those in their 40s and 50s accounted for the highest proportion at 70.3%, followed by those in their 30s at 21.8%, and those in their 20s at 6%. It was also found that many donors were office workers.
The number of donors in their 30s increased by 3.2% compared to the previous year, and 92% of them donated 100,000 won.
The county analyzed that this achievement was the result of operating a "Visiting Cheongyang Love Donation Promotion Booth" at local and external companies and public institutions, targeting office workers.
A county official stated, "We will continue to focus on promoting the Hometown Love Donation program to office workers and providing high-quality return gifts so that the number of participants in Cheongyang County increases every year."
