Restrictions Lifted for Businesses with Annual Sales Over 3 Billion Won to Ease User Inconvenience
Samcheok City, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province (Mayor Park Sang-su) announced on the 3rd that it is focusing on informing citizens by distributing various promotional materials and posting guidance on the official Samcheok City Hall website regarding the use of the newly issued Samcheok Love Gift Certificates, which have been available since the 2nd.

Since 2022, the existing Samcheok Love Gift Certificates (paper type) have discontinued the discount system to prevent illegal distribution. To efficiently issue and use the paper-type gift certificates, Samcheok City has been promoting the issuance of new policy-issued notes, which began sales yesterday (the 2nd).

The newly issued Samcheok Love Gift Certificates on sale this time cannot be purchased individually. They can only be purchased by Samcheok City Hall and its affiliated, invested, and subsidiary organizations for policy allowances (such as rewards, various allowances, relocation incentives, and tourist site entrance fee refunds).

In particular, unlike the old notes that restricted use to businesses with annual sales of less than 3 billion KRW, the new Samcheok Love Gift Certificates can be used at all affiliated stores.
Meanwhile, the currently circulated old notes can still be used by users at affiliated stores as before, and store owners can exchange them at financial institutions. Detailed information on affiliated stores can be found on the official Samcheok City Hall website.
A Samcheok City official stated, “We have promoted the issuance of these new notes to reduce the issuance of paper-type gift certificates and to encourage their efficient use. We are focusing on promotion by posting QR codes with related information at eup, myeon, and dong administrative welfare centers and financial institutions, so we hope this information will help with the use of the gift certificates.”
