Kakao's Content CIC announced on the 3rd that it will run the 'Daum Channel Boost-Up Challenge' for Daum Channel creators until April next year.
Participants need to publish content matching the newly released theme each month and complete missions. The challenge consists of five rounds, with one round held each month.
Daum Channel is a space to freely share and communicate about major domestic and international issues, news, and trendy content. Users can access content in two types: text-based 'Content View' and short video-based 'Today's Short'.
Users can subscribe to channels of interest to receive the latest updates. Also, anyone including creators, companies, and media can operate their own channel after passing an entry screening process. Daum Channel content can be found in various places on Daum, such as PC Daum News, Entertainment, Sports, interest keywords, and on mobile Daum Channel tab, Short-form tab, News, Entertainment, Sports, and more.
The mission for Round 1 of the Daum Channel Boost-Up Challenge is 'Consistently Upload a Lot'. From the 9th of this month for two weeks, the top 10 channels that upload the most Today's Short videos and Content View articles will be selected. Applications for Round 1 participation are open until the 8th, and results will be announced on the 30th. Subsequent round mission themes will be revealed sequentially, and participation is possible every month. Additionally, bonus missions such as acrostic poems and quizzes are prepared, allowing easy and simple participation without publishing content.
The Daum Channel Boost-Up Challenge offers a total prize of 70 million KRW for winners. For each round, 1st place receives 3 million KRW, 2nd place 2 million KRW, 3rd place 1.5 million KRW, and 4th to 10th places receive 500,000 KRW each. The 10 channels winning the bonus missions will receive 200,000 KRW each. After all rounds are completed, the channel with the most wins in missions will receive a special creative support fund of 10 million KRW.
Seo Hyo-jung, Kakao Content Business Leader, said, "This challenge was prepared to encourage the creative activities of partners operating Daum Channel and to expand the creator ecosystem," adding, "We will continue to organize campaigns to support the creative momentum of Daum Channel partners."
