AI specialist company Conan Technology announced on the 3rd that CEO Kim Young-seom was recognized for his contribution to strengthening the competitiveness of the domestic software industry.
The Ministry of Science and ICT held the '25th Software Industry Day Ceremony' on the 2nd at L Tower in Yangjae-dong, Seoul, to honor those who contributed to the development of the software industry and to boost the status and morale of software industry professionals.
Kim Young-seom, CEO of Conan Technology, received the highest award at the ceremony, the 'Silver Tower Industrial Medal,' for his contributions to the 'Development of the Software Industry.' The award was finalized after evaluation by an internal award review committee composed of experts from industry, academia, research, and government related to software, followed by public verification and presidential approval.
CEO Kim said, "I am deeply honored that my efforts, believing in the potential of domestic software and walking a single path, have been recognized," adding, "I will continue to reflect on my original intentions and dedicate myself to strengthening the competitiveness of the domestic AI industry."
Since founding Conan Technology in 1999, CEO Kim has led the technological advancement of domestic software and the localization of AI technology for over 25 years. He has researched, developed, and commercialized core AI technologies encompassing natural language processing and computer vision, contributing to technological independence in the domestic intelligent solutions market, which had relied on foreign solutions. A portion of the company's revenue is continuously invested in research and development. Recently, the company has focused on researching the latest AI technologies such as deep learning, reinforcement learning, and generative AI models. Since launching its self-developed large-scale language model 'Conan LLM' last year, it has been actively establishing Korean-style generative AI in the public sector and industrial fields.
