The police and the Ministry of Employment and Labor conducted a search and seizure operation lasting about 11 hours on the Hyundai Motor Ulsan Plant and the Namyang Research Center in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province on the 2nd.
They plan to investigate the cause of the accident in which three researchers died last month on the 19th afternoon in the vehicle testing area of the Electrification Quality Division at the Hyundai Motor Ulsan Plant. The police and the Ministry of Labor are reported to have secured vehicle test-related data at the time of the accident from the Electrification Quality Division and the safety department, as well as documents related to the chamber facilities where the test was conducted and safety-related documents.
The Ministry of Labor has launched a special industrial safety inspection targeting the Hyundai Motor Ulsan Plant since the 29th of last month in relation to this accident. Through the special inspection, they are comprehensively reviewing compliance with safety and health regulations under the Industrial Safety and Health Act.
