Exploring the Convergence of Korean Art and Advanced Digital Technology
The Korean Art History Society announced on the 2nd that it will hold the 2024 Autumn Academic Conference titled "Expansion of Korean Art: Digital Heritage" on the 7th at the Small Auditorium of the National Museum of Korea in Yongsan-gu, Seoul.

This academic conference aims to explore scholarly evaluations and prospects for the "fusion of Korean art and advanced digital technology" based on digital heritage, in line with the current situation where global interest in Korean culture and art is intensifying, and the production of immersive videos, media facades, and interactive media art works utilizing Korean art is increasing.
The conference consists of three sessions with a total of eight papers presented. △In the first session, focusing on the past and present of digital heritage, Professor Kim Eun-kyung from Korea University and Team Leader Lee Ji-yeon from the National Heritage Promotion Agency will present. △In the second session, on the themes of the extensibility, experience, and communication of digital heritage, presentations will be given by Jang Eun-jung, Head of the Artifact Management Department at the National Museum of Korea, Cho Sang-in, Director of the Seoul Economic Art Research Institute, and Professor Woo Jung-ah from Pohang University of Science and Technology. △In the third session, focusing on the utilization and globalization of Korean digital heritage, presentations and discussions will be held by Lee Ho-jun, Vice President of Captivision Korea, Kim Wool-rim, Director of the National Iksan Museum, and Jeong Byung-mo, former professor at Gyeongju University.
A representative of the Korean Art History Society stated, "We plan to confirm the possibility of new convergent research that actively communicates with the public through digital cultural heritage, going beyond traditional art historical methodologies."
