Namyangju-si Completes ‘Parent Future Education Community’ Academy in Geumgok, Jingeon, and Toegyewon

Namyangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Ju Gwang-deok) announced on the 2nd that it held the ‘Parent Future Education Community’ Academy for the Geumgok, Jingeon, and Toegyewon areas at a cafe located in Jingeon-eup on the 29th of last month.

This academy has been conducted since May with the goal of the ‘Parent Mayor Era,’ aiming to strengthen the role of parents as key participants in education and to establish a foundation for active participation in city administration and educational curricula.

The academy, held for about 30 parent association executives from 10 elementary, middle, and high schools across the three regions, proceeded in the order of △Namyangju City education project briefing △Human Book special lecture (My own know-how for growing succulents) △Child education empathy talk.

First, the city provided a comprehensive briefing on educational projects and held a Q&A session between the staff and parents to promote education policies and resolve parents’ questions.

Next, during the Human Book special lecture, parent executives experienced planting succulents and shared know-how on caring for companion plants, enjoying a healing time.

In the final session, Ju Gwang-deok, Mayor of Namyangju City and father of three children, held an empathy talk with parents about child education.

Mayor Ju emphasized, “As Jeong Yak-yong said, pouring affection and doing one’s best in small and trivial daily matters is the foundation for achieving great things,” and highlighted that “a mother’s dedication is the process of creating a great beginning.”

Meanwhile, the city plans to conclude this year’s activities with customized special lectures for elementary, middle, and high school parents early this month.
