The report meeting was attended by the county governor, chairman of the county council, and other related officials. Since its commencement in October last year, the meeting reviewed the service results based on related law reviews, opinion collection, and case studies, and finalized practical and effective measures.
The bicycle use activation plan is a statutory plan established every five years according to Article 5 of the 'Act on Promotion of Bicycle Use.' It is a plan formulated to promote bicycle use among residents over the next five years through reviewing higher-level plans suitable for Yeoncheon-gun's conditions, annual execution plans, and maintenance plans for bicycle use facilities.
The main contents of the report meeting included the basic design and maintenance plan for the bicycle road network, maintenance plans for bicycle use facilities, and measures to activate bicycle use. It involves building and maintaining a metropolitan and community-oriented bicycle road network by establishing bicycle infrastructure linking major tourist spots and subway stations to attract a living population.
A county official stated, “We will reflect the opinions discussed at the final report meeting to establish a substantial bicycle use activation plan and do our best to ensure convenient and safe bicycle use for residents through the construction of bicycle infrastructure.”
