'127m Putting Success' Shocks with New World Record... World No. 228 'Unbelievable!' David Mitchell-Ryucci

David Mitchellucci (Australia), who plays on the DP World Tour (formerly the European Tour), set a new world record in this category by successfully making a putt from an astonishing distance of 127 meters. On the 1st (local time), the DP World Tour announced David's long-distance putt success on its official website. The previous world record for the longest putt made in a non-tournament situation, listed in the Guinness World Records, was 122.3 meters, achieved in 2023 by an American man named Jay Stokey.

This record was set during the 'Hero Challenge' event held in early last month at the HSBC Championship in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE). The challenge was to make a long-distance putt from a distance of 139 yards, equivalent to 127 meters. Although many prominent players such as Tommy Fleetwood (England), Minwoo Lee (Australia), and Robert MacIntyre (Scotland) participated, the relatively unknown Mitchellucci succeeded in the challenge.

Ranked 228th in the world, Mitchellucci was the top money winner on the 2023 Australian PGA Tour and advanced to the DP World Tour the following year. His best performance this year was finishing as runner-up at the BMW International Open in July. The Guinness World Record for the longest putt related to tournaments was 34 meters, made by Craig Barlow (USA) at the 2008 PGA Tour Buick Open. Barlow made that putt using a lob wedge instead of a putter.
