Uijeongbu-si to Recruit 4,996 Senior Job Positions for Next Year

48% Increase Over 3 Years with 1,602 More People

Uijeongbu City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) announced on the 2nd that it will recruit 4,996 participants for the ‘2025 Senior Job and Social Activity Support Project’.

The application period varies by target group. By category, ▲ Senior Public Interest Activity Project (65 years and older, basic pension and income criteria met for occupational pension recipients) from December 9 to 13 for 3,541 people ▲ Senior Capacity Utilization Project (65 years and older, and some project groups 60 years and older) from December 16 to 18 for 951 people ▲ Community Project Group (60 years and older) from December 19 to 20 for 307 people, and ▲ Employment Referral Type (60 years and older) for 197 people accepts applications year-round.


Next year, new project groups such as Sopunggil and Urban Garden Management, Cafe Project Group (2nd branch), Herbal Tea Packaging Project Group, Electric Vehicle Charging Station and Automated External Defibrillator Project Group will be expanded to provide jobs that match the capabilities and needs of seniors.


Applicants can refer to the city’s website recruitment announcement and apply at 10 senior job implementing organizations (▲ Uijeongbu, Songsan, Singok (Heungseon branch) Senior Welfare Centers ▲ Jangam, Nokyang, Gosan Comprehensive Social Welfare Centers ▲ Uijeongbu Senior Club ▲ Korea Senior Citizens Association Uijeongbu Branch ▲ Gyeonggi-do Social Economy Association Senior Project Group) by bringing an ID card and resident registration certificate.


Mayor Kim Dong-geun said, “The population aged 65 and older in Uijeongbu City is rapidly increasing to 86,039 (18.68% of the population). We will strive to ensure that seniors feel pride as members of society through various jobs and lead a lively and healthy old age.”


The 2025 Uijeongbu City Senior Job Project budget increased by 2.6 billion KRW to 20.8 billion KRW compared to the previous year, with 599 more participants, marking a 48% increase (1,612 people) over three years.
