Uijeongbu City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) announced on the 2nd that it conducted a campaign to eradicate violence against women at Uijeongbu Station on the 28th of last month in observance of the Week for the Eradication of Violence Against Women (November 25 to December 1).

The campaign involved over 40 participants from related organizations and groups, including the Women's Emergency Call 1366 Northern Gyeonggi Center, Gyeonggi Northeast Sunflower Center, Uijeongbu Police Station, Uijeongbu City Shelter of Love for victims of sexual violence, Sarang Gipeun Tteul Northern Gyeonggi Family Counseling Center, Uijeongbu Disabled Sexual Violence Counseling Center, Durebang Counseling Center for Victims of Prostitution, Gyeonggi Women's Organizations Council Uijeongbu Branch, and the Women-Friendly City Citizen Supporters.
Under the theme "A Safe Daily Life Created Together Through Our Concern," various activities were carried out, including a signature campaign to eradicate violence against women and guidance on support institutions for victims of violence, reflecting on the significance of preventing violence against women.
Additionally, to raise awareness about the Week for the Eradication of Violence Against Women, a self-produced promotional video was screened, and related activity photos were exhibited in the Citizen Gallery at the city hall.
Mayor Kim Dong-geun stated, "We will continue to promote awareness of violence through ongoing campaigns and publicity efforts, striving to create a safe society by preventing and eradicating violence and protecting and supporting victims."
