The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs announced on the 1st that approximately 110 hectares of agricultural damage, including the collapse of facility greenhouses and livestock barns, were recorded due to snow that fell nationwide from the 26th to the 28th of last month.
According to the Ministry, as of 10 p.m. on the 29th of last month, Gyeonggi-do suffered the greatest damage with 69 hectares of facility greenhouses and 18 hectares of livestock barns affected, while Chungnam also experienced 11 hectares of damage.
This snow was characterized by being wet snow, heavier due to moisture content, and the Ministry explained that the area of damage could increase further.
They also stated plans to promptly provide insurance payments and restoration costs through damage assessments and investigations of the affected facilities.
