Citizen Groups and Representative Lee Jae-myung Accused... "Retaliatory and Political Impeachment"

A civic group has filed a complaint with the prosecution against Lee Jae-myung, the leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, Park Chan-dae, the floor leader, and Jeong Cheong-rae, the chairman of the National Assembly's Legislation and Judiciary Committee, claiming that their attempt to impeach the prosecutor and the head of the Board of Audit and Inspection is illegal.

On the 1st, the Committee for the Protection of the Common People and Livelihood submitted a complaint to the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office accusing Lee and others of abuse of authority and obstruction of business.

In the complaint, the group stated, "The Democratic Party's push to impeach Lee Chang-soo, the chief prosecutor of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, is a political intention to effectively paralyze state affairs."

Regarding the attempt to impeach Choi Jae-hae, the head of the Board of Audit and Inspection, they described it as "a retaliatory and political impeachment due to dissatisfaction with the audit results."
