Amid ongoing labor disputes among railway-related organizations centered in the Seoul metropolitan area, Gwangju Transportation Corporation has attracted attention by achieving "22 consecutive years of labor-management dispute-free operations."
On the 1st, Gwangju Transportation Corporation announced that its labor and management, including President Jo Ik-moon and Union Chairman Lee Chang-won along with other officials, recently signed the "2024 Wage and Collective Agreement."
In this agreement, both labor and management agreed on wage setting in compliance with government policies and active participation in addressing the low birthrate crisis, pledging to join hands to realize a culture of labor-management peace prioritizing citizens' happiness.
A representative of Gwangju Transportation Corporation stated, "The 22 years of dispute-free operations is the result of both labor and management earnestly engaging in dialogue with a strong determination that there is no division between labor and management when it comes to citizens' happiness. We will continue to do our best to establish peaceful labor-management relations based on communication and coexistence as a leading public enterprise in the region."
