Yongin City Selected as an Excellent Institution in Gyeonggi-do Architecture and Housing Administration Evaluation

Excellence in Strengthening Architectural Administration... 'Grand Prize' in Housing Administration

Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 1st that it was selected as an excellent institution in two categories: "Best" in the 'Building Administration Solidification Evaluation' conducted by Gyeonggi Province and "Grand Prize" in the 'Housing Administration City/County Evaluation.'

The province's 'Building Administration Solidification Evaluation' is conducted in two areas: the 'Safety Sector,' which includes regular inspections to strengthen building safety and management of illegal buildings, and the 'Administrative Procedure Sector,' which covers citizen satisfaction with building review standards and permit processing times, as well as the promotion of excellent policies for system improvement.


The city received perfect scores in 25 out of 40 indicators, including applying floor area ratio relaxation regulations for completed apartments when installing Together Care Centers, inspecting violations in public open spaces and large-scale stores, holding biannual meetings with local architects, and inspecting large construction sites in preparation for winter.


The 'Housing Administration Evaluation' assesses the solid operation status and service level of housing administration by evaluating overall performance in related tasks. The city explained that it ranked first by achieving excellent scores across 63 indicators in five areas.


First, the city supported residential environment improvement by increasing subsidies for repair and maintenance of common areas such as roads and water/sewer pipes in apartment complexes that have been completed for over seven years, from 1.5 billion KRW in 2022 to 1.6 billion KRW last year, and 2 billion KRW this year. The city plans to increase the related budget to 2.2 billion KRW next year.


Additionally, the city received high evaluations for supporting elevator replacement costs in five aging apartment complexes, installing air conditioners in security offices of 19 apartment complexes, and funding improvement projects for rest facilities for security and cleaning workers in 35 complexes. Furthermore, the city provided municipal funds to install three types of rooftop evacuation facilities in all apartments within the region and promoted projects such as interest support for newlywed couples' jeonse loan funds to realize housing welfare for vulnerable groups.
