The Democratic Party of Korea held the 5th rally on the 30th titled 'Condemnation of Kim Geon-hee and Yoon Seok-yeol's State Manipulation and Call for Special Prosecutor,' claiming that "'Investigate Kim Geon-hee with a special prosecutor,' 'Judge Yoon Seok-yeol,' and 'Lee Jae-myung is innocent' are the same message."
On this day, Supreme Council Member Kim Min-seok made these remarks at the rally held around Gwanghwamun. He said, "Judging Yoon Seok-yeol, punishing Kim Geon-hee, protecting Marine Colonel Park Jeong-hoon, fighting alongside Lee Jae-myung, judging the regime, judging the manipulation, and judging the prosecution are all one democratic struggle," and added, "Kim Geon-hee will go to prison."
Supreme Council Member Kim stated, "Let's change the game before the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump of the United States, which is 50 days away," and argued, "On Christmas, let's sing for the eradication of the 'shamanistic regime,' at year-end parties even gathering just 10 people to make a declaration on the state of affairs, and let's recommend the Nobel Peace Prize to Trump."
He said, "Let's settle the score within six months," and questioned, "Former Presidents Lee Seung-man, Park Chung-hee, Chun Doo-hwan, and Park Geun-hye all couldn't endure it, so how could anyone endure it?"
Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, also attended the rally that day. However, he sat among the citizens rather than in front of the stage where Democratic Party lawmakers were seated, and he did not speak on the stage. A representative from Lee's side explained, "It was Lee's intention to stand with the citizens as a party member."
After about 20 minutes of their own rally, the Democratic Party joined the '3rd Citizens' March Rejecting Yoon Seok-yeol,' which was led by civic groups.
