Cold weather with temperatures below freezing will continue, mainly in the central region.
On Saturday the 30th, dense fog will form in some inland areas of the central region and Jeonbuk, and many roads will be slippery due to ice formed overnight from recently fallen snow or rain, so special caution for safety is required.
On the afternoon of the 26th, after rain, citizens in Yeouido, Seoul, are moving while bundled up in thick clothing as the temperature drops along with strong winds. The Korea Meteorological Administration has forecasted snow in Seoul starting tonight. Photo by Jo Yong-jun
Morning temperatures will be -1°C in Seoul, 0°C in Daejeon, and -4°C in Chuncheon, with freezing temperatures mainly in the central region, eastern Jeonbuk, and Gyeongbuk, making it cold. Daytime temperatures will rise to around 10°C, with 9°C in Seoul, 11°C in Daejeon, and 8°C in Chuncheon.
As the country lies on the edge of a high-pressure system located over inland China, the weather will be mostly cloudy nationwide, and freezing cold will appear mainly in the central region, eastern Jeonbuk, and the Gyeongbuk area.
However, as the low-pressure system that brought cold air from the north gradually moves northeastward, the cold air will retreat eastward and temperatures will gradually rise, but on next Tuesday, cold air will move south again causing temperatures to drop.
Most maritime areas currently have gale warnings in effect, and gale warnings will continue until the day after tomorrow for the outer seas of the West Sea, the southwestern outer sea of the South Sea, and the inner eastern outer sea of the South Sea, so vessels engaged in navigation or fishing should exercise caution.
From early tomorrow morning to morning, some inland areas of the central region and Jeonbuk inland will experience dense fog with visibility less than 200 meters.
