HD Hyundai's intermediate holding company for shipbuilding, HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering, announced on the 29th that it has signed a construction contract for four container ships with an Asian shipping company.
The total order amount is 1.0997 trillion KRW.
The four container ships ordered this time will be built by HD Hyundai Samho and are scheduled to be delivered by November 2028.

Including this order, HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering has currently secured a total of 181 vessels (including one offshore facility) worth 20.56 billion USD, tentatively achieving 152.2% of its annual order target of 13.5 billion USD.
By ship type, the orders include 8 liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers, 7 LNG bunkering vessels, 62 petrochemical product carriers (PC ships), 50 liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and ammonia carriers, 28 container ships, 3 ethane carriers, 2 liquefied carbon dioxide carriers, 6 very large crude carriers (VLCC), 7 tankers, 2 pure car and truck carriers (PCTC), 1 floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU), 1 offshore facility, and 4 special-purpose ships.
