Namyangju City - Ulaanbaatar City, Mongolia, Strengthen Global Cooperation Through Youth Exchange

Namyangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Joo Gwang-deok) announced on the 29th that it successfully conducted youth exchange activities by inviting a youth exchange group from Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, for 7 nights and 8 days from the 23rd to the 30th.

This exchange was organized to strengthen global friendship cooperation between the two cities and to provide youth with opportunities to understand each other's cultures.


The Ulaanbaatar youth exchange group explored major historical and cultural sites in Namyangju and Seoul, experiencing both traditional and modern Korean culture, and is scheduled to conclude their itinerary by departing from Incheon Airport at 1 PM on the 30th.


The main schedule included △ Gyeonggi Viewer Media Center news broadcasting experience △ Wabu Library Imagination Workshop 3D printer experience △ Jeong Yak-yong Playground Korean culture experience △ Namyangju City Hall meeting △ Jinjeop Playground youth exchange activities △ tours of Namyangju landmarks such as Jeong Yak-yong Historic Site, Hongyureung, and Bongseonsa Temple △ and visits to Seoul landmarks including Lotte Sky Tower and Gyeongbokgung Palace.


Especially during the visit to Namyangju City Hall, the group toured key departments such as the General Civil Service Office and Disaster Situation Room, received introductions to major youth policies of Namyangju, and reflected on the achievements of previous youth exchanges.


At the youth exchange activities held at Jinjeop Playground, youths from both cities experienced traditional Korean games through team missions, created and presented shorts by team, fostering mutual cultural understanding.


At the end of the event, youths from both cities gathered together to share dinner and farewell sentiments, promising to meet again in the future.


One Ulaanbaatar youth said, “The citizens of Namyangju welcomed us warmly like family, which deeply moved me. This youth exchange was a great opportunity to learn a lot and grow further. I will strive to become a youth who leads positive changes in future society.”


A Namyangju City official stated, “Through this exchange activity, the cooperative relationship between the two cities has been further strengthened, and it was a meaningful time for youth to develop a global perspective. We will continue to promote various international exchange activities in the future.”
