Gumi City Continues Delicious Kimjang Sharing This Winter

Hyosung TNC and Hyosung Chemical, 5,000kg (500 drums worth 19 million KRW)

Gumi City Love for Companies and Gumi Bus, 600kg (60 drums worth 3 million KRW)

On the 28th, Gumi City in Gyeongbuk received 5,000 kg (500 containers, worth 19 million KRW) of kimchi, which employees had made themselves the previous day, from the Hyosung TNC and Hyosung Chemical Gumi factories (General Factory Manager Song Ki-cheol), as well as 600 kg (60 containers, worth 3 million KRW) of kimchi made by members of Gumi Sarang Corporate Love and Gumi Bus.

Hyosung TNC and Hyosung Chemical Gumi factories have been carrying out winter kimchi-sharing activities since 2010. This batch of kimchi was prepared through voluntary payroll donation collections by employees combined with company grant matching.

The kimchi will be evenly distributed to the elderly, disabled, child care facilities, and low-income vulnerable groups in the Indong, Yangpo, and Jinmi areas.

Company grant matching refers to a fundraising method where the company adds support equal to the amount raised by employees.

Gumi Sarang Corporate Love and Gumi Bus have been preparing kimchi since 2021 to support low-income households in the region. This kimchi was made by the hands of members of Gumi Sarang Corporate Love and the Barun Saelgi Movement Gumi City Council, and the prepared kimchi will be delivered to 60 low-income vulnerable households.

Hwang Eun-chae, Director of the Social Welfare Bureau, expressed gratitude, saying, “The kimchi, which is delivered every year with care and sincerity, gives strength to prepare for a warm winter for neighbors in need. We will do our best to ensure that the warm hearts conveyed reach the places where they are needed.”
