Yoo Young-il, a member of the Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly (People Power Party, Anyang 5), called for support to restore the damage at the Anyang Agricultural and Marine Products Wholesale Market, whose roof collapsed due to heavy snowfall.
On the 29th, during a visit to the Anyang Agricultural and Marine Products Market, Assemblyman Yoo said, "The Anyang Agricultural and Marine Products Wholesale Market was established alongside the Pyeongchon New Town development project and has been around for nearly 30 years, so the facilities have become quite outdated." He expressed regret, saying, "Due to the heavy snow this time, the ceiling structure could not bear the weight and collapsed, causing significant damage to the merchants."

Assemblyman Yoo had previously made every effort to promote modernization projects to improve the poor market environment and revitalize the Anyang Agricultural and Marine Products Wholesale Market, including hosting forums.
However, as the project progress stalled, he secured 400 million KRW in special adjustment grants in 2023 to carry out restroom improvement projects. Additionally, this year, a total budget of 1 billion KRW is planned to be secured, including 600 million KRW for installing odor prevention facilities at the waste transfer station and 400 million KRW for seawater pipeline maintenance projects, to improve the environment around the wholesale market's waste transfer station and wastewater treatment area.
Earlier, on the 28th, during a provincial administration question session, Assemblyman Yoo proposed to Governor Kim Dong-yeon of Gyeonggi Province to visit the Anyang Agricultural and Marine Products Wholesale Market to comfort the merchants distressed by the heavy snow damage and to provide prompt support for damage restoration.
In response, Governor Kim Dong-yeon visited the Anyang Agricultural and Marine Products Wholesale Market on the morning of the 29th and promised to provide the necessary support so that the merchants can resume business as soon as possible.
