Gyeonggi Fire Department, Business Agreement on Safety Education for Foreign Workers

The Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Korea Life Culture Movement Foundation (FLCM) and the Han Young Education Foundation to support the transfer of advanced fire systems overseas and enhance safety education for foreigners.

Under this agreement, the three organizations will collaborate in various areas, including promoting fire safety education for foreign workers, donating decommissioned fire trucks to developing countries free of charge, and supporting overseas projects involving unused firefighting equipment.

The Korea Life Culture Movement Foundation is establishing international non-governmental organizations in Southeast Asia by country to promote exchanges with Korea across diverse fields such as education, culture, sports, and welfare. The Han Young Education Foundation, established in 1998 under the Ministry of Employment and Labor, is a non-profit corporation that operates various vocational skill development training programs.

Jo Seon-ho, head of the Gyeonggi Fire and Disaster Headquarters, stated, "With this agreement, we expect to create an environment where foreign workers, who have been in safety blind spots, can work more safely at their workplaces." He added, "Furthermore, this will provide a foundation to more actively transfer Gyeonggi Fire's advanced fire systems overseas."
