Yangju City Conducts 'Public-Private-Police Joint Inspection' to Prevent Prostitution

Yangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kang Su-hyun) announced on the 29th that it conducted a joint civil-government-police inspection on the 28th targeting singing practice rooms and entertainment bars in the Deokgye-dong commercial area to prevent prostitution.

The inspection involved related city departments including the Family and Childcare Division, the Children and Youth Division, and the Culture and Tourism Division, as well as the Crime Prevention Division of the Yangju Police Station and the Yangju Sexual Violence and Domestic Violence Integrated Counseling Center.

The joint inspection team focused on major commercial districts in the old city area, visiting singing practice rooms and entertainment bars to check for the posting of anti-prostitution promotional materials, compliance with the prohibition of prostitution (brokerage) activities, and whether minors were entering the premises, while also conducting guidance activities to ensure legal compliance.

A Yangju city official stated, “We hope this inspection raises awareness about prostitution crimes and contributes to creating a healthy local community environment,” adding, “We plan to continue ongoing inspections and preventive activities to eradicate prostitution.”
