Jeonnam Provincial College announced on the 29th that it launched the "University Integration Promotion Headquarters (hereinafter referred to as the Integration Headquarters)" on the 28th, with Kim Jong-myeong, Director of Academic Planning, as the head, to promote integration with the National Mokpo University.

The Integration Headquarters will serve as a communication channel for both internal and external university matters related to the integration promotion. It will listen to various opinions from faculty, staff, and the local community, and oversee the basic direction of the integration and coordination of practical issues.

On the same day, the college held a plaque ceremony for the Integration Headquarters along with a meeting to gather opinions on the goals and direction of the university integration, accelerating the integration process. During the meeting, various plans were discussed, including detailed operation plans for the Integration Headquarters, diversification of university integration publicity, and frequent holding of briefings and public hearings.

The Integration Headquarters plans to thoroughly examine the challenges during the integration process and propose a university development model for the Jeonnam Provincial College campus by reflecting the voices of local residents and stakeholders.

Jang Heon-beom, Acting President (Director of Jeonnam Province Planning and Coordination Office), said, "University integration is a process that goes beyond a simple physical merger to leverage the strengths of both universities and establish a foundation for development together with the local community. We will do our best to ensure that the integrated university sets a new standard for higher education in the Jeonnam region and becomes a model of coexistence with the local community."

Meanwhile, Jeonnam Provincial College aims to obtain approval for the integrated university in April 2025 and plans to submit the integration application to the Ministry of Education in December.
