Discussion on Measures to Alleviate Household and Care Burden Between National Assembly Unicorn Farm and Startups
Emphasis on Government Support Measures Such as Income and Tax Deductions

Life Research Institute, which operates the home cleaning service platform ‘Cheongso Yeonguso,’ announced that CEO Yeon Hyun-joo participated in the ‘Low Birthrate Countermeasure Forum’ held on the 28th at the National Assembly Members’ Office Building Seminar Room 1, where they discussed government support measures such as applying income and tax deductions to reduce the cost burden of household and care services.

The forum was attended by key representatives from four major household and care startups, including Life Research Institute, Mampyeonhan Sesang, Hubris-Care Plus, and Dangsineui Jipsa, along with National Assembly members Kang Hoon-sik and Bae Hyun-jin from the Unicorn Farm startup research group.

Kim Kyung-sun, former Vice Minister of the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, who delivered the keynote speech, presented on the topic ‘The Future and Challenges of the Household and Care Market,’ stating, “Household service platforms can contribute to solving the low birthrate problem by driving job creation and economic growth, alleviating career interruptions for women, and reducing gender gaps in the labor market.”

In the subsequent panel discussion, CEO Yeon Hyun-joo of Life Research Institute, CEO Jung Ji-ye of Mampyeonhan Sesang, Director Moon Ho-jin of Hubris-Care Plus, and CEO Lee Seo-ho of Dangsineui Jipsa emphasized the importance of household and care service platforms. They noted that with the increase in dual-income households, these platforms have been highly effective in reducing household burdens, and if added to income deduction categories, they are expected to alleviate household cost burdens and positively impact work-family balance.

CEO Yeon stated, “Recently, household care services have undergone a major shift from traditional agencies to platforms, and platform services help dual-income households save time and costs while using household services rationally. In fact, approximately 49,000 reviews on the Cheongso Yeonguso app store reflect vivid user experiences that mirror the realities of childcare and dual-income families, proving the importance and necessity of household services.”

In response, Assemblyman Kang Hoon-sik said, “If tax deductions are realized, it will be possible to estimate the market size more concretely, which will serve as a basis for establishing effective low birthrate countermeasures.”

CEO Yeon added, “Through discussions, we hope to formalize the informal household and care market and explore government support measures to help solve the low birthrate issue. Going forward, Life Research Institute will continue to enhance service quality through Cheongso Yeonguso so that more households can benefit, and work together with the government to create social value.”
