KT Merges Strategic New Business Divisions... Establishes Media and Strategic Consulting Divisions

KT Merges Strategic New Business Divisions... Establishes Media and Strategic Consulting Divisions Kim Young-seop, CEO of KT

KT is carrying out an organizational restructuring that consolidates the Strategic New Business Division into the Enterprise Division and establishes a new Media Division.

According to the telecommunications industry on the 29th, KT will announce an organizational restructuring plan centered on these changes.

KT decided to abolish the Strategic New Business Division, which included the AI (Artificial Intelligence) Business Headquarters, DX (Digital Transformation) Business Headquarters, and Robot Business Unit, and absorb it into the Enterprise Division.

The Media Platform Business Headquarters, previously under the Customer Division, will be expanded to form the newly established Media Division.

The AI-related businesses that belonged to the abolished Strategic New Business Division are expected to move to the Media Division in this restructuring.

This is interpreted as an effort to separate the Media Platform Business Headquarters from the Customer Division, which mainly focuses on telecommunications, to enhance synergy with KT's content subsidiary KT Studio Genie and AI transformation.

Additionally, the Strategic Consulting Division will be spun off from the Technology Innovation Division, which was overseen by the Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

KT, which has declared it will provide AI and cloud consulting services to companies pursuing AI transformation through a strategic partnership with Microsoft, is expected to establish the Strategic Consulting Division as the organization responsible for this business.
