The meeting, organized to console the efforts of the executives of the Veterans Association and listen to their difficulties, was attended by about 30 people, including Guri City Council members and executives of the Veterans Association.

At the meeting, Chairman Shin Dong-hwa explained the direction of legislative activities, saying, "We will focus on honoring national veterans and their families who have devoted themselves to the country." Lee Seung-woo, president of the Veterans Association, expressed gratitude to the Guri City Council, mentioning that since the launch of the 9th Guri City Council in July 2022, the council increased the veterans' honorary allowance from 100,000 won to 200,000 won through a council member's proposal, and in 2024, it was further increased from 200,000 won to 300,000 won. He also noted the review and approval of an ordinance amendment to establish a ‘War Hero Allowance’ for Korean War veterans.

Chairman Shin Dong-hwa said, “The Republic of Korea today and the current Guri City exist because of the sacrifices of national veterans and their families, and emphasizing their honor can never be overstated. Going forward, the Guri City Council will strive to ensure there is no deficiency in honoring national veterans and their families, and we will do our best to instill a love for the country among the youth, the future generation of Guri City, to further expand and strengthen this spirit.”
