Recognized for Effective Operation of 27 Atopy and Asthma Safe Schools
Efforts to Create a Healthy Growth Environment for Children Including Moisturizer Support, Distribution of Asthma Emergency Kits, and Emergency Situation Manuals
Jungnang-gu (District Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi) was selected as an outstanding institution for the 2024 Atopy and Asthma Prevention Management Project on the 28th and received a commendation from the Minister of Health and Welfare.
The district has been leading efforts to create a healthy growth environment for children by effectively operating 27 Atopy and Asthma Safe Schools and through early detection, treatment, and management of children with allergic diseases.
Through a prevalence survey related to allergic diseases, moisturizers were provided to children at high risk of atopic dermatitis, and allergy prevention and management education was conducted for 2,731 students at Safe Schools.
In addition, asthma emergency kits and emergency situation manuals were distributed to ensure that children can live in a healthy and safe environment.
Furthermore, through cooperation with the Seoul Atopy and Asthma Education Information Center, professional education programs were provided to various groups such as parents and childcare teachers, which was highly evaluated for improving community awareness of allergic diseases and spreading a culture of prevention and management.
Ryu Gyeong-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, stated, "Allergic diseases are increasing due to changes in living environments caused by urbanization," and added, "We will do our best to detect allergic diseases early and manage them continuously through systematic and diverse prevention and management education."
