Yongsan-gu Recruiting 38 University Students and Youth Part-Time Workers

Applications open from 2nd to 6th next month on Yongsan-gu website
Eligibility expanded to unemployed youth up to 29 years old

Yongsan-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Park Hee-young) will accept applications for the '2025 University Student (Youth) Part-time Job' from December 2 to 6. This program was established to provide local university students and youth with the opportunity to directly experience district government work and gain social experience.

Starting this year, the recruitment target for university student part-time jobs has been expanded to allow unemployed youth aged 19 to 29 to participate. This is to provide more employment experience to young people and eliminate disparities in opportunities.

As of the announcement date (November 25), anyone who is a university student (including those on leave) registered under the Higher Education Act with resident registration in Yongsan-gu, or unemployed youth aged 19 to 29 with resident registration in Yongsan-gu, can apply. However, university students (youth) who have participated in part-time jobs within the past year are not eligible to apply.

From this winter recruitment, two university students (youth) with more than 100 hours of volunteer service records within Yongsan-gu will be given priority selection. The total number of recruits is 38, including 2 priority selections, 12 special selections, and 24 general selections. Special selection candidates include recipients of the National Basic Livelihood Security, low-income households, national veterans and their children, multicultural families, families with three or more children, persons with disabilities, and North Korean defectors and their children.

University students (youth) who wish to participate can apply through the Yongsan-gu website from 9 a.m. on December 2 to 6 p.m. on December 6. Selection will be made through an electronic public lottery, and the results will be notified individually via text message on December 11. The results can also be checked on the district website.

The working period is from January 6 to February 5, 2025, and working hours are from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., five days a week. Participants will assist with on-site tasks and support administrative and welfare work at the district office, community service centers, health centers, and other locations.

Compensation will be based on the 2025 Yongsan-gu living wage, with a daily payment of 58,895 KRW. If working full-time for 20 days, participants can receive approximately 1.41 million KRW (including paid holiday allowance, before deductions).

District Mayor Park Hee-young said, “We expanded the recruitment target to include youth to provide more opportunities to young people in the region. This will be an important experience not only as a simple job but also to directly experience district government work and enhance understanding of public administration.”
