This drill was carried out to cultivate rapid on-site response skills in the event of an actual fire and to improve practical emergency response abilities. Forty foundation employees performed tasks by organization based on a simulated fire scenario, including fire command, suppression, evacuation guidance, and rescue.
The drill simulated a fire outbreak in the corridor on the 4th floor of the foundation building with the fire spreading, proceeding in the order of △fire reporting and alarm activation △initial fire suppression △emergency rescue measures △emergency evacuation guidance and removal of important documents △emergency evacuation of all employees and visitors.
Additionally, systematic training was conducted to learn how to respond to urgent fire situations, including education on the duties and roles of the self-defense fire brigade and practical training on the use of fire extinguishers and fire hydrants.
The drill concluded with a debriefing by the on-site commander of the Guri Fire Station.
Chairman Baek Kyung-hyun said, “We planned this hands-on training with the goal of saving the lives of visitors and employees through swift and calm responses in the event of a fire in public buildings,” adding, “We will continue to conduct preventive response drills to minimize damage through rapid action during disaster situations.”
