Marking its 16th year, the 'Love Kimchi Sharing' event is a community service activity that Daesung Energy conducts every winter to provide warm meals to vulnerable groups such as low-income households and elderly living alone in the local community.
On the day, participants carried salted napa cabbages and completed preparation work in the morning, then carefully mixed the seasoning in the afternoon to make kimchi, which was packed into about 800 containers and delivered to residents of small rooms and neighbors in need.
Park Moon-hee, CEO of Daesung Energy, said, “Every year, employees and related organizations continue the kimchi sharing event with thoughts for marginalized neighbors. This year, with the price of napa cabbage rising significantly, we hope this helps local seniors and neighbors who find it difficult to even buy kimchi to have a warm winter.”
For the past 22 years, Daesung Energy has been practicing ESG management through various activities with the Volunteer Capacity Development Institute, including supporting heatwave relief campaigns for small room residents’ self-reliance and welfare improvement, small room coexistence projects, and Hope Dream Center support projects.
