iM Life Obtains Certification as a 'Workplace Free of Verbal Abuse'

iM Life announced on the 28th that it was selected as a "Language Violence-Free Company" at the "2024 Language Violence-Free Company (Institution) Certification Ceremony" held at Finland Tower in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul, hosted by the Yoon Kyung ESG Forum.

A total of 43 companies and institutions, including iM Life, participated in this certification ceremony. It was organized to address the issue of language violence within companies and to confirm the commitment to ethical communication culture and ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) management practices.

iM Life received high evaluations for carrying out various activities to establish an ethical communication culture. To foster a language violence-free corporate culture, it introduced and consistently operated an in-house praise program. Additionally, it encouraged a culture of respect and inclusion among employees and strived to increase positive communication. Activities aimed at refining language and enhancing thinking skills among employees have also been ongoing through the operation of a book club, invited author lectures, and management communication enhancement programs based on selected readings.

Earlier, the Yoon Kyung ESG Forum held the "21st Yoon Kyung CEO Pledge Ceremony" in May, selecting the theme of a "Language Violence-Free Society" together with CEOs of various companies and exploring ways to realize it. In September, the forum announced the "Language Violence-Free Company Certification," selecting companies that have consistently worked to eradicate language violence. The selected companies are those that have exemplary ethical management programs and have established a culture of eradicating language violence.

A representative of the Yoon Kyung ESG Forum stated, "The issue of language violence is not merely an internal corporate problem but an important task connected to social responsibility," adding, "We hope this event will serve as an important opportunity to spread an ethical communication culture."

Kim Seong-han, CEO of iM Life, said, "Language is a crucial factor that determines the dignity of a society, requiring self-purification efforts from all members of society, starting with a mindset of mutual respect," and added, "iM Life will establish itself as a company leading a culture of mutual respect among employees based on 'people-centered management.'"

Meanwhile, the Yoon Kyung ESG Forum is the longest-running private forum in Korea, launched in 2003 under the Industrial Policy Research Institute (IPS) of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy to promote the spread of ethical management and the establishment of an ethical corporate culture in Korea. CEO Kim joined as a co-representative in May and continues active activities alongside Kang Shin-sook, CEO of Sh Suhyup Bank; Kim Ki-chan, professor at Catholic University; Kim Jong-gap, distinguished professor at Hanyang University; and Cho Hyun-jung, chairman of Bit Computer.
