Hosts Over 100 Local Education Officials, Students, and Parents

The city of Guri, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun), announced on the 28th that it held the '2024 Future Education Cooperation District Growth Sharing Meeting' on the 27th at the first-floor auditorium of Guri City Hall in collaboration with the Guri Namyangju Office of Education. The sharing meeting was successfully concluded with the participation of about 100 people, including local education officials, students, and parents.

Based on a business agreement, Guri City and the Guri Namyangju Office of Education are promoting support for strengthening local educational autonomy, bridging educational gaps, and operating educational programs to nurture future social talents under three goals: autonomy, balance, and future.


At this sharing meeting, students, parents, and teachers who participated in the Future Education Cooperation District program shared their experiences through case presentations, reinforcing the importance of educational cooperation. Additionally, various exhibition and experience booths related to the Future Education Cooperation District were operated, receiving high praise from attendees.


Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun of Guri said, “Through this sharing meeting, we were able to further strengthen the solidarity of the educational community and jointly explore directions for sustainable local educational development. The local government, the Office of Education, schools, and the community will work passionately to take responsibility for our children's happiness and design proper future education, making Guri a city good for raising children and where children are happy.”


Meanwhile, since signing the business agreement with the Guri Namyangju Office of Education in January, Guri City has supported 13 projects with 2.892 billion KRW.


The key projects include △ Guri Future School △ Guri Colorful Schools △ Our Village Vivid Experience △ Shared Schools △ Student Survival Swimming △ Guri Regional Linked Schools (Inchang Library, Youth Training Center, Cultural House) △ Art Hall Linked Experiences, which have drawn positive responses with about 15,000 elementary, middle, and high school students participating.


The city plans to continue to solidly promote future education, arts education, and customized career education experiences to become the best premium education city.
