Goyang-si Practices Sharing with Heartfelt 'Love Kimchi' Kimjang

Goyang Special City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) announced on the 28th that on the 27th, the Korea Successor Agricultural Managers Goyang Special City Association hosted the 'Sharing Love Kimchi Making' event.

The event, held at the Goyang Agricultural and Marine Products Comprehensive Distribution Center plaza, was organized to help neighbors in need have a warm winter.

The 'Sharing Love Kimchi Making' event was carried out in collaboration with about 100 members from the Korea Successor Agricultural Managers Goyang Special City Association, Goyang Saemaul Women's Association, Nonghyup Goyang Distribution Center, Nonghyup Goyang Branch, and heads of local Nonghyup cooperatives.

At the event, Lee Dong-hwan, Mayor of Goyang Special City, and Kim Un-nam, Chairman of the Goyang Special City Council, participated and made kimchi with about 3,000 heads of napa cabbage together with the Saemaul Women's Association members.

Of the 804 boxes of love kimchi made this time, 604 boxes were delivered to 11 comprehensive social welfare centers in Goyang City, and 200 boxes were distributed to foreign workers.

Mayor Lee Dong-hwan of Goyang Special City said, "Kimjang has been a traditional custom unique to our nation, involving cooperation and sharing through communal labor by the entire village," adding, "I hope that sharing kimchi made with warm hearts and sincerity will help neighbors going through difficult times."
