Over 1,600 Public Officials Participated in 12 Sessions
Expanded to 16 Sessions in 2025
Goyang Special City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) announced on the 28th that it successfully concluded the 2024 Self-Development Literacy Education with the 12th lecture, "Public Speaking for Public Officials," held at the Goyang Talent Education Center on the 27th.

The "Self-Development Literacy Education" is designed with various themes each session to enhance the job competencies of Goyang Special City public officials, with a total of approximately 1,600 officials participating in the 12 lectures this year.
The city set the purpose of this year's Self-Development Literacy Education as "strengthening capabilities such as planning skills, increasing work efficiency, fostering a community mindset and collaboration, and promoting proactive administration through creative thinking," avoiding simple literacy lectures and conducting education closely linked to job duties.
The education program included ▲ Generative AI digital transformation training (March to June) ▲ Report writing and speech enhancement training (August, November) ▲ Organizational communication humanities and education on individual role recognition within the organization (August, November) ▲ Local government promotion strategies and successful case studies training (November). Depending on the number of participants per session, the programs were held at the Goyang Talent Education Center, the City Arts Center, and the main conference rooms of each district office.
The city plans to expand the "Self-Development Literacy Education" from 12 to 16 sessions annually in 2025 to further enhance the capabilities of public officials through high-quality job and literacy education.
