Mayor Lee stated, "With the heavy snow warning issued on the 27th, we experienced the largest snowfall in November in 117 years. Concerned about the inconvenience to citizens commuting to work, I personally inspected the snow removal vehicle dispatch base yesterday morning and participated in snow removal operations with public officials at Hwajeong Station Square."
The mayor emphasized, "The operation of snow removal vehicle dispatch bases went smoothly yesterday and today, and major roads were cleared quickly, minimizing inconvenience for citizens on their way to work. However, side streets, sidewalks, and overpasses where snow removal vehicles cannot reach may cause inconvenience to citizens as temperatures drop, so vulnerable areas must be carefully inspected."
He added, "Due to climate warming, warm weather continues, but sudden cold snaps and unexpected heavy snowfalls can occur irregularly. Given the large fluctuations in weather, we must not let our guard down and must be fully prepared to respond swiftly."
Mayor Lee also reported, "Last week, the 2024 Korea Industrial Exhibition was held at the India New Delhi Yashobhoomi International Exhibition Center, jointly operated by KINTEX, where ways to expand economic cooperation between Korea and India were discussed. According to KOTRA, export consultations reached as high as 450 million dollars, showing great interest."
Mayor Lee stated, "India is the world's 6th largest economy by GDP, excelling in advanced industries such as IT, bio, and manufacturing. Goyang City actively discussed expanding economic cooperation and corporate partnerships between Korea and India through the 'Korea-India Business Forum,' meetings with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), India's largest economic organization, and visits to Gurugram City, a global IT industry hub." He added, "We plan to continuously discuss ways to expand cooperation in advanced technology and industrial fields such as smart mobility, bio, and cultural content."
