Yeongwol County Health Center Selected as an Excellent Operation Case... Awarded the Minister of Health and Welfare Prize

Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province Yeongwol-gun (Governor Choi Myeong-seo) announced on the 28th that Yeongwol-gun Health Center (Yeondeok Health Clinic) was selected as the grand prize winner for the excellent case of the elderly health management program operation at the ‘2024 Health Clinic Performance Competition’ held at the Korea Press Center International Conference Hall, receiving the Minister of Health and Welfare Award.

The performance competition is an event held to select and reward outstanding health clinics that have worked hard to promote the health of local residents. Through case presentations, it aims to share and spread excellent cases and strengthen the functions of health clinics.

Yeongwol-gun’s five health clinics each selected one senior center and operated a total of 40 art program sessions under the theme “I Can Do It Too. Happy and Wonderful Days!” for 50 elderly people aged 65 and over. Through the program operation, efforts were made to reduce depression and improve dementia conditions among the elderly.

Ho Hee-nam, director of Yeongwol-gun Health Center, stated, “As a health clinic that communicates most closely with local residents, we will continue to operate more programs for local residents and play a solid role as guardians of community health.”
