In particular, in May 2024, Mapo-gu installed the 'Hyochang-gu' and 'Hyodobel' exclusively for seniors aged 75 and over, implementing a one-stop civil service that allows seniors to receive immediate response and prompt processing when visiting administrative agencies to apply for civil petitions.

Additionally, to protect civil service officers in charge of civil petition work, Mapo-gu established the autonomous regulation Seoul Special City Mapo-gu Civil Petition Processing Officer Portable Protective Equipment Operation Guidelines and introduced protective equipment to create a system ensuring staff safety.

Furthermore, Mapo-gu operates considerate parking spaces (BPA) for transportation-vulnerable groups such as those accompanied by infants and pregnant women, and has installed a barrier-free queue waiting system to enable convenient use of the civil service office by people with disabilities and the elderly, receiving favorable reviews.

Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo-gu, said, “It is very meaningful that our efforts to create a convenient and safe civil service environment have resulted in being recognized as an excellent institution for the 'National Happiness Civil Service Office.' Mapo-gu will strive even harder to provide civil services that bring happiness and inspiration to residents.”
