Foreign Seasonal Workers' Unity Event Receives Positive Response
Laos Deputy Minister of Employment and Labor Attends, Encourages Nationals
Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) held a Unity Festival on the 27th, bringing together foreign seasonal worker employers and workers in the area to foster harmony.
According to the county on the 28th, this event was organized to coincide with the off-season as seasonal workers who arrived during the busy farming season are scheduled to depart sequentially by December. About 500 people, including seasonal workers from the Philippines and Laos, employers, marriage immigrants residing in the area, and invited family workers, enjoyed a joyful time together.

In particular, the Deputy Minister and Director from the Ministry of Labor of Laos visited in person to encourage their nationals working in a foreign country and participated in the event, adding prestige to the occasion.
The festival featured meaningful activities such as sports events where employers and seasonal workers ran and laughed together, and a singing contest with Filipino and Laotian songs prepared by the seasonal workers during their spare time, creating a lively atmosphere.
Governor Kim San said, “In this era of globalization where national borders have disappeared, foreign seasonal workers are now our family and neighbors who will share the future of Muan together. Moving forward, our county will do its best to improve the working conditions and human rights of foreign workers.”
