A story has emerged about students in Siheung-si, Gyeonggi Province, helping a car that could not climb a snowy road. Online community
As heavy snowfall paralyzed morning traffic mainly in the Seoul metropolitan area, a heartwarming story emerged about students helping vehicles that couldn’t climb the road from behind.
On the 27th, an online community, FM Korea, posted a thread titled "Wonderful Students." The author, Mr. A, began by saying, "Today, while passing in front of Beombae Tunnel located in Siheung City, Gyeonggi Province, a Mercedes-Benz was stuck on an uphill road due to heavy snow and couldn’t move forward." He explained, "Seeing this, the students risked danger and pushed the Mercedes from behind. One student guided the vehicle, and even while continuing on their way, they kept checking if any other cars were in trouble." He added, "They were truly admirable and wonderful friends, which made me feel good."
Mr. A further detailed the situation in the comments. He said, "The Mercedes owner must have been very anxious with the snowy conditions ahead. Even though the students pushed, the car couldn’t make it up in one go, so they went back to push again. They pushed almost to the top of the hill." Netizens who read the story responded with comments such as, "Those students will surely become good people in the future," "It’s encouraging that there are people who actively help others," and "Rear-wheel drive vehicles can be dangerous on snowy days, so caution is necessary."
In Dongtan New Town, Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi Province, students were seen helping by pushing a truck that could not climb an uphill slope. Instagram
Meanwhile, a similar incident was reported in Dongtan New Town, Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province, on the same day. A netizen posted a video on their social media account showing a truck unable to climb a steep road due to heavy snowfall. Several children, appearing to be middle school students, ran across a crosswalk and positioned themselves behind the truck. The students joined forces to push the truck, which was able to safely ascend the hill with their help.
The author wrote, "It was tough with so much first snow, but the passing children were so cute," and added, "The road conditions aren’t good, but I’m smiling for a moment." Netizens who watched the video expressed both encouragement and concern, saying things like, "The kids are so lovely and kind," "I hope they grow up like this," and "It’s dangerous behavior because if the truck slipped backward, it could have been a big accident. I hope they don’t do that again."
