Impact of Expansion in Women's Fashion and Home Categories

Women’s fashion platform 29CM (Isipgu Sentimiteo) announced on the 28th that its cumulative transaction amount this year has surpassed 1 trillion KRW. This figure represents an increase of more than 54% compared to the same period last year, marking the highest performance ever.

The monthly active users (MAU) also rose by 43% compared to October last year. Over the past three years since 2021, 29CM has shown a steep growth trend with an average annual growth rate of 64%.

29CM Surpasses 1 Trillion KRW in Cumulative Transactions This Year... "Leading the Women's Fashion Market"

The growth is attributed to 29CM’s unique curation strategy specializing in women’s fashion brands. As of mid-November, the total transaction amount for women’s fashion and accessories increased by nearly 60% compared to the previous year. ‘Trimmingbird,’ which joined the platform in April, participated in the ‘Wednesday Brand Entry Meeting’ introducing new brands of the week and achieved daily sales of 1.2 billion KRW. The brand ‘Dainit’ exceeded 700 million KRW in sales on its first day through ‘Egu Live’ hosted by CEO Kim Dain upon entry. Additionally, the number of women’s fashion brands achieving sales exceeding 100 million KRW within one month of joining surpassed 28.

Recently, 29CM has been enhancing satisfaction among female customers aged 25 to 39 who value personal taste by proposing home brands. As of mid-November this year, the transaction amount in the home category increased by 150% compared to the previous year. As a result, the number of female buyers rose by about 30% compared to last year, and the average purchase amount per person, known as the average order value, exceeded 230,000 KRW.

The biannual mega promotion ‘Egood Week’ also drove these results. The ‘2024 Winter Egood Week,’ which concluded in early November, recorded transaction amounts exceeding 113.6 billion KRW over ten days. The total transaction amount combining the first and second halves of this year’s Egood Week increased by 61% compared to the previous year.

Accordingly, the official entry of global sports brands has also increased. In July, Adidas selected 29CM as its official distributor, showcasing over 100 items including major sneaker lines and women’s sportswear products. In addition, global sneaker brands such as Salomon and New Balance have consistently gained popularity, with the transaction amount in the global sports and sneakers category rising by about 60% compared to the previous year as of mid-November.

Park Junyoung, head of commerce at 29CM, said, “We plan to further expand the explosive growth shown in women’s fashion this year into next year. Next year, based on the experience and curation capabilities accumulated in the women’s fashion sector, we will strengthen collaboration with emerging home brands to continue new leaps in the lifestyle market.”
