Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon Gives Lecture on 'Seoul Daily Life Revolution' at Kwangwoon University

On the afternoon of the 27th, Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon visited Kwangwoon University and gave a talk show-style lecture to students on the theme of "How Leaders Change the World."

Mayor Oh introduced attractive policies such as "Didimdol Income," the "Take It Easy Hangang 3-Event Festival," and "Wrist Doctor 9988."

Mayor Oh stated, "The changes in citizens' daily lives accumulate and build a first-class city, and therefore I approach the mayoral position with the philosophy of improving the quality of life for citizens."

He also empathized with the youth employment shortage issue and introduced "Youth All-in-One Information Center" and "Youth Employment Academy," which comprehensively cover policies and benefits for young people in Seoul.

Upon hearing from students about the misuse of unemployment benefits amid a lack of jobs, Mayor Oh said, "A well-established economic ecosystem where quality companies earn money on their own, allowing small businesses to grow into medium-sized enterprises and medium-sized enterprises into large corporations, is essential for creating quality jobs." He added, "We need to create an atmosphere that moves toward a free market economic order where a reward system that compensates hardworking people can function."

Regarding solutions to the problem of regional extinction, he responded, "The country should be divided into four to five regions to comprehensively upgrade education environments, culture, arts, and leisure." He continued, "Local governments should be given governance systems, administrative discretion, and full authority over revenue, expenditure, and tax collection so that they can develop their own growth strategies and compete."

Mayor Oh emphasized, "Instead of only looking at the news in front of us, it is helpful to directly seek out and understand what an ideal society and desirable nation are, and the principles behind why political forces constantly clash, to help change a society polarized by conflict."
