Dong-gu, Gwangju City received the 'Grand Prize' in the 2024 Local Autonomy Content Awards for its AI (Artificial Intelligence)-based healthcare industry promotion support project.
On the 27th, Dong-gu announced that it won the grand prize in the AI and digital field at an event hosted by Local Autonomy TV, the Korean Local Autonomy Association, and the Korean Humanities Content Association.
The AI-based healthcare industry promotion support project fosters healthcare startups by combining excellent local medical infrastructure with AI technology and helps create sustainable jobs.
In collaboration with Chonnam National University and Chosun University Hospital, Dong-gu built a startup platform and received high evaluations for personalized healthcare services and product development through big data and genomic analysis.
The project was also recognized for attracting young populations and presenting a new growth model for the old downtown area.
District Mayor Im Taek said, “We will discover customized business policies that fit the lives of residents.”
