Taean County in South Chungcheong Province held the “2024 19th Taean Agricultural College Graduation Ceremony” on the 26th at the auditorium of the Taean Agricultural Technology Center, with 25 graduates of the 19th class of Taean Agricultural College and related officials in attendance.

This year, Taean Agricultural College began its program on March 20 and conducted a total of 22 sessions, amounting to 90 hours of education. The program operated one course, “Smart Future Agriculture,” which allowed students to learn about digital agricultural technologies.

The Smart Future Agriculture course was designed to enhance agricultural productivity and sustainability by applying innovative technologies and advanced systems in response to the recent trend of aging. The curriculum covered a wide range of topics, from theoretical education such as an overview of smart farms and cultivation techniques for new income crops, to practical training including IoT smart farm module production and media commerce-based agricultural product marketing.

In particular, young and female farmers actively participated in the program, drawing attention. They expressed high satisfaction with the lectures, which incorporated digital technologies such as preparing agricultural management documents using ChatGPT and promoting farms through media commerce.

County Governor Gasero stated, “Amid growing interest in smart agriculture, it is meaningful that we have conducted full-scale smart agriculture education over an extended period,” adding, “We will continue to provide diverse educational programs to enhance the competitiveness of Taean agriculture and drive changes in future agriculture.”
