Since 2022, the city has been promoting investment attraction in collaboration with Gyeonggi Province, which signed an investment agreement with ESR Kendall Square in New York, USA, last October.

At the signing ceremony, Nam Sun-woo, CEO of ESR Kendall Square, stated, “If this eco-friendly complex logistics park is successfully established with the support of Yeoju City, it is expected to create 7,700 jobs locally and generate an economic ripple effect worth a total of 2.5 trillion KRW.”

According to this agreement, Daesin Logispark and ESR Kendall Square plan to develop a 990,000㎡ site in Daesin-myeon, Yeoju City, and build a large-scale eco-friendly complex logistics center by 2027.

The complex aims to establish an eco-friendly logistics park linked to new industries by building hydrogen logistics infrastructure such as hydrogen charging stations, and installing solar power generation facilities on parking lots and logistics center roofs to lay the foundation for carbon neutrality.

Additionally, it will create a fund to support advanced logistics industries and startup-related companies for regional industrial development, provide office spaces for startup support, hold job fairs to create employment, and promote industry-academia cooperation with local universities.

Furthermore, through public contributions and infrastructure expansion such as new and expanded roads, installation of public sewage treatment facilities, small stream maintenance, and sales agency for local agricultural products, the project plans to develop regional infrastructure corresponding to the logistics park location.

Mayor Lee Chung-woo of Yeoju City said, “In special measures areas where development is difficult due to regulations, investment attraction in collaboration with Gyeonggi Province is expected to create jobs and develop regional infrastructure,” adding, “We will provide full administrative support to make this eco-friendly complex logistics park, which integrates renewable energy and advanced technology, a successful investment attraction model.”
